Fisherprice pictures

Here are a few child's eye view pictures taken with the twins Fisherprice cameras by the kids while we were staying at the cabin over new-years.

The Treehouse

This was a labor of love for Trafton and me. We came up with the idea in the fall and began discussing possible locations and designs. Plans were bounced back and forth (thanks to Google Sketchup)

and a final design was found.

We planned our first build weekend for Dec 15th and 16th; meanwhile Trafton began construction of the main structure in KC, while I began working on the crows nest in the garage. The weather didn't exactly aggree with us on the 15th, so the building began on the 16th. And thanks to Justin (one of Trafton's co-workers) we were able to get much of the structure in place by the end of the day.

Thanks to my father-in-law, Denton, we were able to get it basically finished the following weekend, in time for the big reveal on Sunday afternoon. Trafton and I had driven out to the cabin early Sunday to finish up and Kit and Kerrie brought the kids out around 1:00 pm. We met them at the top of the lane for a tractor/trailer ride down to the cabin (they couldn't see the treehouse from the top of the lane). As we came around the corner of the house and the treehouse came into view, the kids all shouted and pointed and smiled. I'm not sure who was more excited: the kids seeing the treehouse for the first time, or Trafton and I getting to witness their reaction.

Of course, we couldn't have done any of this without Kerrie and Kit taking care of the kids while we played with our power tools.
